Finally, I’ve found time to write a short post about Frost Con. This was the first con I’ve attended since moving to Toronto, the first con I’ve ever attended without a booth, and the 10^th convention I’ve attended since I started going to cons about 2 years ago.

Since I wasn’t spending my time behind a booth this time, I was able to spend lots of time seeing the other vendors at the event! I absolutely love spending time in Artist Alley at conventions, so this was a real treat. I hope to see these artists again at some of the future conventions I attend in Toronto!

I had the pleasure of discovering many new artists this past weekend, so I wanted to give you a chance to do the same! I have so many recommendations that I had to split it into multiple posts, so the rest of the artists will be found in my next couple of posts.

First, this artist's work had me mesmerized. I could not stop returning to her booth to stare at her beautiful artwork.

Heading to Frost Con!

Today I’m heading to Frost Con!

Normally, pre-con, you can find me in a jewellery-making frenzy, trying to get everything ready in time for the big event.

However, this time, I am not going as a vendor! It will be my first convention ever as a guest instead of a vendor! This is only because I didn’t know that the con existed until very recently, so I wasn’t able to apply.

It’s strange waking up on the morning of a con and leisurely getting ready to go. Not packing up all of my inventory and lugging it to the event before the doors open is kind of liberating!

I love vending, and am a little sad that I’m not selling Hodder Designs jewellery today, but since that can’t be changed, I’m just going to embrace the idea of attending a convention as a guest!

I'm going with one of my more laid back cosplays, since those are the only ones I packed to bring to Toronto. So I'll be a femme 11th Doctor today.

You know you’re a Whovian when (Part 1)

You know you’re a Whovian when:

Any kind of creaky, wheezy sound makes you think of the T.A.R.D.I.S.
You do a bit of a double take every time you see a statue (and then perhaps wonder what kind of pose you could do when taking a photo with that statue in order to make it look like it is killing you).
Bowties make you think “bowties are cool,” in Matt Smith’s voice.
The sentence “I don’t want to go,” breaks your heart a little every time you hear it.
A Van Gogh painting always brings tears to your eyes as you remember his immense pain, and how overwhelmed he was when he learned about his success.
You hear yourself explaining the T.A.R.D.I.S. beginning with “it’s bigger on the inside.”
You are constantly trying to explain your Doctor Who obsession to the people around you, to convince them you are not crazy.
You cringe when people refer to the character as “Doctor Who” instead of “the Doctor.”
Every now and then, when you see a statue, you remember Rory and Amy, and tear up a little.
Soufflés make you sad for Clara.
Wild curly hair always reminds you of River.
Sometimes, when you think of the name “River Song,” you remember that it was really Pond, Melody, and tear up again.
Libraries both bring you great joy and great sadness, remembering River.
Astronaut suits bring up a whole bunch of confusing memories and feelings for you.
You accidentally quote Doctor Who daily, and then try to explain the significance of the quote to non-Whovians.
